The results of experimental investigation free convection heat transfer in a rectangular container are presented. ability the commonly accepted correlation equations to reproduce present data was tested as well. It assumed that examined geometry fulfils requirement no-interaction between heated cylinder and bounded surfaces. In order check this assumption recently published jointly describe dependence average Nusselt number on Rayleigh confinement ratios were examined. As source served electrically horizontal tube immersed an ambient fluid. Experiments performed with pure ethylene glycol (EG), distilled water (W), mixture EG at 50%/50% by volume. A set empirical for prediction Nu numbers range 3.6 × 104 < Ra 9.2 105 or Raq 14.8 106 Pr 4.5 ≤ 160 has been developed. proposed based two characteristic lengths, i.e., diameter boundary layer length.
